Which RMM platform providers topped headlines this year? Here's a closer look at five of the biggest RMM stories from 2015:
In March, LabTech Software released LabTech 10, a new version of its RMM platform that integrates ScreenConnect remote control technology at no additional cost. The release came after ConnectWise, which holds an equity stake in LabTech Software, acquired ScreenConnect in February. With the ScreenConnect integration, managed service providers (MSPs) gained access to a remote control tool within the LabTech platform.
In May, SolarWinds N-able launched N-central 10, which provided MSPs with monitoring, management and remediation support for both network operations center (NOC) and help desk services. The platform also included an updated remote control function that enables service technicians to remotely access and work on customer devices in the background without interrupting the end user's work.
In July, Kaseya named former Yodle executive Fred Voccola as its CEO. Voccola replaced Yogesh Gupta, who was elected chairman of Kaseya's board of directors. The addition of Voccola as its new CEO was one of several moves for the company over the summer; Kaseya also named Alex Cuevas, another ex-Yodle executive, as its chief customer officer.
Autotask said it plans to integrate its professional services automation (PSA) and CentraStage RMM platforms into a single platform for MSPs and other IT service providers. Pat Burns, Autotask's vice president of product management, told this year's Autotask Community Live! attendees that his company wants to provide its MSP customers with a platform that gives them the greatest efficiency and value out of a unified platform.
In January, LogicNow (formerly GFI Max) updated its ControlNow IT infrastructure management platform, enabling MSPs to remotely monitor their customers' Windows services. The company added RMM capabilities for Windows services and personalized alerts for individual users to ControlNow.
