ConnectWise Platform Initiative Director Jeannine Edwards has been in her new role for about 30 days, leading the company's efforts to extend its IT channel success to the ISV market. What has she been up to in her new position? MSPmentor found out.

"It has been a busy first 30 to say the least!" Edwards told us. ConnectWise has made its SDK (software development kit) and APIs (application programming interfaces) a top priority for 2014.

To tackle the division's initiatives, Edwards said her team focused first on the development process to ensure that ConnectWise is an "application that is extendable, customizable and can be built upon."

"We now have our dedicated API developer team in place along with our API product manager, and our commitment to enhancing APIs to be as robust as possible is a strong one," she said.

Uncovering new integration opportunities is another large part of her role, which can lead ConnectWise into new markets, she said.

"I’ve been meeting with our sales stake holders to understand what tools future ConnectWise partners are using in their organizations and deploying to their customers that may not be in our integration library today," Edwards said.

The company wants as many organizations integrating to ConnectWise as possible, she said, and it wants  these integrations to be as "robust and seamless as possible.

"This helps the adoption of ConnectWise and empowers a true business operating platform value proposition," she said.

Developers looking to become part of the ConnectWise Developer Community through the company's Developer Network may be noticing some changes.

"The next 30 days will be heads down on that project, along with identifying and establishing various listening posts within our API community regarding exactly how we’re doing on the API and SDK development front," she said. "And of course, ensuring the ConnectWise integration community is ready to rock for IT Nation 2014."

Additionally, Edwards and her team is also responsible for vendor sponsorships at ConnectWise events, including ConnectWise User Groups and IT Nation 2014.

"Check back with me in 90 days as we head into the evolution of our ConnectWise Marketplace," she suggested. "These are exciting times at ConnectWise!"

Amy Hodge succeeded Edwards as the leader of the company's IT service provider communities.
