Servoyant President Enrique Krajmalnik told MSPmentor that the main objective for the new release was to work on useability and improving the out-of-box experience for MSPs. That is coming through an automatic provisioning of tests. Best practices are baked into the solution and then MSPs can modify them to suit their own needs. These improvements can save about 90 percent of the time that MSPs were spending on set ups, Krajmalnik said.
Existing customers are able to change their set up over in a matter of seconds, he added. Servoyant 5 also improves on the user interface. Also new are live views of devices and single-click test creation. Servoyant 5 also offers click-to-start monitoring.
And plans are already underway for further enhancements, Krajmalnik told me. Probably the most MSP-requested enhancement is support for various backup and disaster recovery providers. Servoyant already supports some of those and has plans to add more before the first half of 2012 is over.
Servoyant completed integrations with PSA providers Connectwise, Autotask and TigerPaw last summer.
Meanwhile, support for Mac platforms is planned for the third or fourth quarter and support for mobile device management (MDM) is coming in the fourth quarter.
While Krajmalnik admits that MDM and Mac support is really just a check-mark item that MSPs want to be able to say they offer, there are some specifics on what they need.
The biggest pain point in MDM for MSP customers right now is in remotely provisioning devices, Krajmalnik said, so that's what Servoyant will focus on initially.
