IT and network management software developer ManageEngine, a division of Zoho Corp., today said its IT help desk software is now available to managed services providers (MSPs) for free.

MSPs will now be able to leverage ServiceDesk Plus MSP for free without restrictions, regardless of whether software runs in the cloud or on premise.

ManageEngine President Raj Sabhlok told MSPmentor that "channel partners today are trying to make do with Excel sheets and home grown tools.

"It is time to move away from the compromised solutions to a quality help desk for free," he said. "We at ManageEngine want to help all the channel partners to begin with a quality help desk to start supporting their clients and pay only for the value adds when they grow."

In fact, MSPs get a better deal than small and medium-sized businesses (MSPs). The MSP version of the software has more multi-tenant capabilities to manage multiple accounts, Sabhlok said.

This news is coming off the heels of ManageEngine introducing a new pay-as-you-go model for MSPs and extending support in its mobile device management (MDM) and desktop management sofware, Desktop Central, to new platforms.
