Ahsun Saleem, CEO, Simplegrid Technology, Inc.
Saleem leads Simplegrid Technology, growing the team by 15% and growing revenue by 25% from 2011.He is a well-known executive in the legal and financial services industry.
Rory Sanchez, CEO & President, SLPowers
Sanchez launched the company's managed IT services push back in 1998 and grew company revenues to $7 millon+. Sanchez began targeting larger clients and healthcare providers with managed security, infrastructure and datacenter services in 2008. He invested heavily and launched cloud initiative in 2010; those services are now the fastest growing segment of business. SLPowers now builds and manages cloud infrastructure for its service providers and network transport companies.
Akash Saraf, CEO, Zenith Infotech
Saraf has overseen the successful launch of TigerCloud, which combines server, storage and network virtualization technologies for mid-market customers. Zenith Infotech, no doubt, hit turbulence in 2011 with a bond default (that situation had not been resolved as of this MSPmentor 250 report's debut in August 2012). But we continue to watch the company closely, especially as it continues to work with the MSP ecosystem.
Roland Sars, CCO, BackupAgent BV
Sars is an entrepreneur who, with his co-founders, built BackupAgent 'from the dorm room' into a leading cloud backup software vendor that serves more than 400 telcos, service providers and hosting companies in over 50 countries. Under Sars' leadership, BackupAgent has become one of the fastest growing companies in EMEA, resulting on the 8th position on Deloitte Fast 50. As the CCO, Sars is the public face of the company, responsible for the management of the firm, and for setting the commercial goals and roadmap for the company.
Peter Scantland, VP of Management, ProServeIT Corporation
Scantland led the effort to expand and enhance the company's service desk to support a 24x7x365 model. He developed a framework for the company's network operations centre, which included placing some Canadian employees in Europe and Asia to provide follow-the-sun customer support.
Aaron Schneider, CEO, Helixstorm
Schneider co-founded Helixstorm in 2007, and under his leadership the company is now a leading managed services provider in the Southern California area. The company experienced 36 percent growth in the last year and is anticipating an additional 14 percent growth before year end. He leads the partner expansion program for the company to develop key relationships with top technology vendors.
Scott Scrogin, President, HTG Peer Groups
Scrogin consistently finds new ways to extend HTG's mission of providing business performance improvement and life-work excellence to members -- most of whom are VARs and MSPs. Among his achievements in 2012, Scrogin led the launch of HTG Online, a program supporting smaller IT partners through education and online peer collaboration. HTG started two online and two core groups in the U.S. and Australia to total over 270 members.

Selbst has been in and around the IT channel for more than a decade, running a solutions provider business, coaching MSPs and most recently joining the board of advisors at Channel Partners. Selbst's Rolodex keeps him plugged into key MSP trends, allowing him to coach clientele toward market shifts and business alliances that industry startups may otherwise overlook. He also blogs frequently, sharing advice and guidance to the IT services provider community.
Aleksy Serkov, Chief Technology Officer, CloudBerry Lab
Serkov has positioned CloudBerry Lab as a leading provider of backup services that integrate with Amazon, Google, HP Cloud Services, Rackspace and other major cloud services providers.
Gregory Sharp, Managing Director, Base 2
Sharp has built Base 2 into one of New Zealand's fastest growing MSPs. From a standing start in 2008, Base 2 now has more than 100 customers, and the company has generated 200% growth year on year. Base 2 surveys it's customer bi-annually and regularly received approval ratings of over 90 percent.
Brian Shepard, CEO and Founder, Tenzing Managed IT Services
Starting Tenzing as an independent home-based web hosting business in 1998, Shepard grew the company by 753% between 2005 and 2011 from $1.5 million to $12.8 million. Under his direction, Tenzing has evolved to become a leader in managed hosting services for enterprise-class SaaS and e-commerce applications. For the past seven years, Tenzing has ranked as one of Canada's fastest-growing companies.
Paul Sheppard, Sales Director, Wavex Technology Limited

Biren Shukla, CEO, LevelCloud
Shukla has launched a platform that helps to transform VARs and MSPs into cloud services providers. Leveraging a close relationship with OS33, LevelCloud helps CSPs to rapidly onboard customers. Prepfering controlled growth rather than rapid-fire expansion, Shukla has focused on finding the right channel partners rather than pursuing the masses in 2012.
Andrew Sieja, Founder and CEO, kCura
Sieja founded kCura in February 2001, and then he ultimately transformed the company from a consulting firm to a software company providing electronic discovery solutions for the legal community. Prior to kCura, he was a senior consultant at Lante, Inc., an e-business consulting firm.
Jay Sigler, CEO, IT Assurance
Sigler helped grow company revenues 400 percent in 2010, 250 percent in 2011, and an estimated 200 percent in the first quarter of 2012. He also volunteers for multiple non profits. One example: He sponsored and provides all the technology needs for Mission of Mercy that was facilitated by the Oregon Dental Association, which provided free dental work for thousands of people who would not have received such care otherwise.
Corey Simpson, MSP Partners Community Staff Leader, CompTIA
Simpson is the MSP Partners Community manager for CompTIA, an experienced technology services professional and an avid IT channel advocate. He is responsible for facilitating meetings, organizing discussions and supporting group initiatives with CompTIA resources. With his assistance, CompTIA has built an MSP Partners Trustmark.
Emmanuella Skala, VP of Global Channels, Sophos
Skala shifted into the channel chief position in April 2009, succeeding Steve Hale. She has helped to unify the Sophos and Astaro partner programs, giving VARs and MSPs a one-two punch across endpoint security and unified threat management. In recent months Sophos has been working more closely with MSPs on recurrent revenue model development and execution.
Daniel Smith, Partner Programme Manager, Nasstar plc
Smith transformed Nasstar from a boutique hosting provider to a channel only white label cloud service provider. Having brought over 75 partner companies to market, he is now focusing on rolling out a distributor programme in the UK and Ireland. From training and sales overlay to go to market strategy Smith's work with partners has enabled Nasstar to achieve 37% in the first half of this year.
Rick Snide, Co-founder and CEO, Revolution Group
Under Snide's leadership since 1995, Revolution Group has continually evolved to keep pace with the quickly changing financial and technological landscape. Active in HTG Peer Groups and EO International, his strategic partnerships and leadership have generated a 250% increase in MSP revenue, and a total revenue increase of 49% since 2009, making the company a leading IT services provider in central Ohio.
Ivan Spencer-Phillips, Manager, Park Bench Technology
Spencer-Phillips oversaw a cloud server strategy that now generate 80 percent of company profits. He also oversaw the deployment of a new monitoring reporting system that decreased customer downtime and increased business efficiency.
Morris Stemp, CEO, Stemp Systems Group
Stemp grew the company's headcount from 20 to 36 team members during 2011 while increasing profitability. As a leader in Healthcare IT, Morris released his book The EHR Guru, a parable that explains how to implement electronic health records.
Gary Stevens, CEO, Agiliant, Inc.
Stevens has built multiple companies in the managed services market. Prior to Agiliant, he grew a national managed services business from the ground up to $50 million in annual revenues. With Agiliant, Stevens has successfully won customers both through a dealer channel and more recently through four newly established direct branches in major markets across the country.
Ken Stewart, Director of Channel Analysis, Photizo Group, Inc.
As part of an independent managed document service provider executive team, Stewart built an augmented IT and professional services team. He led a team that grew revenues over 50 percent in 5 years, reduced staffing requirements by 20 percent due to technology and process innovations, and increased services profitability to 68 percent. After assisting with the acquisition transition by a Japanese OEM, Stewart now works with Photizo Group, a leading research and consulting firm, helping organizations achieve success in managed print services.
David Stinner President, US itek
Stinner has led US itek to 30% growth in the last two years and earned the Buffalo Business First FastTrack Award in June 2012. He has grown the company's managed endpoint footprint by 100% over that time and increased monthly recurring revenue by over $25,000 since 2009. He continues to make inroads in selling HaaS as well, and in July 2011 achieved the Microsoft OEM Emerging Partner of the Year at the Worldwide Partner Conference, due to triple digit growth in Microsoft desktop and server licensing.
Anne Stone, Director of Marketing, Verio
Stone has been building out and promoting a cloud services portfolio for MSPs and VARs. The Verio lineup includes cloud hosting, Zimbra email and Microsoft SharePoint. She previously held marketing, communications and channel positions at ACT Conferencing, MX Logic (acquired by McAfee) and StorageTek.
Jay Strickland, President, WingSwept
Strickland is the founder of WingSwept, which completed its 30th consecutive month of profits in mid-2012. WingSwept has never lost a key MSP customer and surveys indicate that 92% of network clients would recommend the company to someone else.
Edward Stringfellow, CEO and President, Stringfellow Technology Group, Inc.
Stringfellow launched STG in 2005 and has been responsible for its 20% growth annually since inception. In 2011, revenue broke $2 million and STG moved into a larger space to accommodate further growth. Stringfellow has received awards such as Nashville Business Journal's Forty Under 40. In 2012 STG was chosen as a finalist for both the Best in Business and Small Business Awards in Nashville.
Dan Sturgill, CEO, Live Virtual Help Desk
Sturgill built Live Virtual Help Desk and steers the business direction daily. Over the past year or two, Live Virtual Help Desk has become a back-end service provider to MSPs and VARs across North America. Most recently the company inked a partnership with Ingram Micro Cloud.
Seng Sun, CEO, Sunview Software
Sun founded the company in 2003. SunView's flagship product, ChangeGear, is an integrated, IT service management platform for automating an organization’s IT best practices. Under Sun's leadership, the company has attracted a growing base of MSPs, expanded its customer base by 45% in the past 12 months, and lifted revenues 48% during that time.
Sean Sweeney, President, Maximum Business Intelligence
Sweeney, a Level Platforms veteran, launched Maximum Business Intelligence in July 2011. The company offers social media services to MSPs, helping service providers to generate sales leads, qualify opportunities and establish credibility across social media channels.
